A public adjuster must meet the following qualifications in order to obtain a license:

A licensed public adjuster must pass a state test and continuing education.

A licensed public adjuster is the only category of claims adjuster that are able to legally represent the rights of the policyholder.

A licensed public adjuster is employed exclusively by a policyholder who has sustained an insured loss.
